Brown's Cemetery

    The precise location of this cemetery is unknown.  It is believed to have been located on Weaver Road in Darby Township.  This cemetery is noted in the 1883 Beers' History of Union County as already being a neglected cemetery.  The general location of this cemetery is noted on the 2006 Union County Map published by the Union County Engineer.


Mitchell Cemetery

                    

    The Mitchell Cemetery is located on State Route 38 south of Marysville on the north bank of the Big Darby Creek.  It is near the Burns Road intersection, adjacent to the St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery.  This is the oldest cemetery in the county, and it was used as a burying ground by the Indians before it was used by the settlers.  The first settler to be buried here was Samuel McCullough in the spring of 1800.  This cemetery also contains the remains of Mary Hawn who was the first white female child born in what is now Ohio.  A school house was once located adjacent to the Mitchell Cemetery.  The cemetery still in use today (2006).  This cemetery has been called the Robinson Cemetery or Mitchell-Robinson Cemetery.


Old Saint John's Cemetery

    Saint John's Lutheran Church has had three burial sites.  The original Saint John's Lutheran Church Cemetery dates to the 1840s.  It is located in the 2nd field east behind 13296 State Route 736 on the north side of the road.  This cemetery is visible from 736 and is marked by a large white wooden cross.
 
 

Saint John's Lutheran Cemetery

                    

    This is the third burial site for the Saint John's congregation.  It is located on Kandel Road not far from the  Saint John's Church at the corner of State Route 736 and Kandel Road.  This cemetery is a private cemetery, open for burial only to Saint John's members.  It remains active today. 

Saint Paul Lutheran Cemetery

      

    The Saint Paul Cemetery is located on State Route 38 south of Marysville adjacent to the the Mitchell Cemetery and is the property of Saint Paul Lutheran Church in Chuckery.  This cemetery was started in 1893 when the church was formed.  It is a private cemetery open for burial only to members of the church.  This cemetery dates to 1893.  The Saint Paul Cemetery is still active today (2006).



Trinity Lutheran Cemetery

             

    Trinity Lutheran Cemetery was the second burial ground of Saint John's Church.  When the original congregation divided, one cemetery went to Saint John's and the other to Trinity.  The Trinity Lutheran Cemetery is located on State Route 736 just at the edge of the Darby Township line.  This cemetery dates to before 1900.  This is still an active cemetery (2006). 


Unionville Center Cemetery

                        

                      

    The Unionville Center Cemetery is located just west of the Unionville United Methodist Church on  Middleburg-Plain City Road.  The older section of the cemetery was originally called the Sager Graveyard.  The oldest burial in the cemetery dates to 1813.  The new section of this cemetery is still active and is presently maintained by the Darby Township Trustees.
