Taylor Township


Asbury Cemetery

             

    This cemetery dates to 1855.  It is located on Wheeler Green Road near State Route 31.  It is on land donated to the Asbury Methodist Episcopal Church by Richard Dildine.  It is currently in the care of the Taylor Township Trustees.  The Asbury schoolhouse was also once in the general vicinity of this cemetery.  While this cemetery appears to be well mowed, many of the gravestones are in very poor condition.


Broadway Cemetery

             

    The Broadway Cemetery is an active cemetery that dates to 1874.  It is located on the east side of Broadway off of State Route 347.  The land was deeded to the township by Pelig Cranston in 1874.


Ford Cemetery

      

    The Ford Cemetery is located at Patrick Brush Run Road and Ford Reed Road near Bokes Creek.  It dates to 1859, and it is referred to in the Beers' History of Union County.  It is a well maintained cemetery.


Maskill Cemetery

                    

    The Maskill cemetery is on land that was once owned by James Maskill.  It is located on Wolford-
Maskill Road between Gandy-Eddy Road and Harmon-Patrick Road on the south bank of Bokes Creek.  It dates to pre-1883.  It is mentioned in Beers' History of Union County, though not by name.

Union Christian Church Cemetery

             

    This cemetery is also known as the Hamilton-Union Cemetery.  This plot of land was donated to the Union Church for a burial ground by James Hamilton, Harrison Shaw, and John Turner.  The first burial in this cemetery was that of a child of James Hamilton.
  It is located on east side of Raymond Road north of Cotton Slash Road.  This cemetery dates to 1837.
