Union Township



Hathaway Cemetery

    This cemetery is on land donated to Union Township by Dr. Nicholas Hathaway.  It is located 1 mile west of State Route 4 behind 22947 Connor Road, approximately 2 1/2 miles southwest of Milford Center.


McDonald Cemetery

    The McDonald Cemetery was deeded to Union Township on May 4, 1874 by George McDonald.  It is located 2 miles northwest of Milford Center on Collins Road in the woods behind a farm.  It is no longer an active cemetery.  The McDonald Cemetery has also been known as Teeter's Graveyard.  The land that this cemetery is located on was once a part of E. C. March's farm, so this cemetery has also been known as the March Cemetery.


Milford Center Cemetery

                    

             

    This located on the east side of Milford Center on Plain City-Middleburg Road.  It is an active, public cemetery that dates to pre 1828.  It is in excellent condition and very well maintained by the Union Township Trustees.  This cemetery was originally a small family burial ground, owned first by George Brown and then H. Burnham.  In the late 1820s a subscription was taken in the Milford community with the intent to purchase this ground for public use. 

 

Reed or Woods or Upper Liberty Cemetery

                    

    This cemetery is very well preserved for an inactive Pioneer cemetery.  It dates to approximately 1813.  It was once associated with the Upper Liberty Presbyterian Church.  The land was formally deeded to Union Township by George and Josiah Reed and Samuel Wood on July 18, 1871.  It is located on Orchard Road southeast of Sam Reed Road.
