Union County Death Records Prior to 1909

This index has been transcribed from handwritten records, Volumes 1-3, of the Union County Probate Court. It is important to note that not all deaths were recorded prior to 1909. Those that were recorded do not include details such as parent names, birth date, etc., available in later records. Like all references of this type, there are bound to be errors and misinterpretations of the handwriting of various clerks. Whenever possible, the original record or the microfilmed images should be examined. Volume 3 of the death records were recorded in a format different from the first two volumes. There are no page numbers for volume 3;the year of the recording is listed. Please note that recordings were frequently made some months after the death, often appearing in the year following the death.
