WILLIAM A. SNUFF, farmer; P. O. Red Lion; was born in Turtle Creek Township July 11, 1818. He is a son of Isaac and Jane (Riggs) Snuff. His father came with his parents to this county prior to its organization. Mr. Snuffs grandfather, Eleazer Riggs, also an early pioneer of Warren County, served seven years in the American Revolution. Our subject's father died July —, 1828, aged 43 years. His mother was born Dec. 27, 1783, and died Oct. —, 1860. Mr. Snuff, the subject of this sketch, was married, July 13, 1853, to Catharine Feerer, daughter of Job and Almira (Greene) Freerer. [sic] Mrs. Snuff, also a native of Warren County, was born Dec. 10,1827; four children were added to this union, viz., Olive I., wife of David Moyers; Maria J., Emma A. and Cora E. Mr. Snuff and family associate with the Methodist Episcopal Church of Red Lion. In politics, he votes Democratic. He owns a good farm of 93 1/2 acres, and follows tilling the soil.

John Walker Another grandfather of William Snuff was Jacob Schnorf a Revolutionary War vet., along with his maternal grandfather Eleazer Rigg. The Schnorf farm Cemetery,now called the Bunnell Cemetery 1 mile south of 122 on the west side of 741 is where Jacob his wife Mary (Kinder),William's father Isaac and many other family members are now under piles of trash and brush. A few stones have been recovered but many remain there.William and his wife along with his daughters are buried at the Woodhill Cemetery.William's mother Sarah Jane Rigg Schnorf is at rest near her father Eleazer Rigg Sr & brother Eleazar Rigg Jr. at the Kirby Cemetery.

William's brother George Snuff is my ggg grandfather who moved to Niles, Michigan about 1863
