- According to "Old Macomb Cemetery, Macomb, Illinois" by
Marge Harris, Pg 63: Deborah, daughter of A. & R. Lamb d 1 Sept.
1853, age 2m 28d
"Beneath this stone in sweet repose
I laid a mothers's (sic) dearest pride
A flower that scarce had waked
To life and light and beauty
Ere it died."
This gravestone was not located in the fall of 1989; however, many stones
were on the ground that was thickly covered with leaves. According to
the compiler, the book was transcribed from file cards located in the
vertical file "Macomb - Cemeteries" in the Western University,
Macomb, IL. However, the card shows:
Deborah Lamb d 11 Sept. 1853, aged 2Ms, 28 days. These death dates do
not agree with the following:
Deborah Lamb Died 14 Sep. 1855: Aged 2 M. 28 D. (framed rememberance)
Deborah Lamb b 16 Jun. 1855, d 14 Sep 1855 (Bible record)
