Transcription of undated 1881 obituary from unidentified newspaper submitted by Arne H Trelvik 11 June 2003
BLAIR - May 5th, 1881, GEORGIE E. BLAIR, third
daughter of Jno. A. and Allie M. Blair, of scarlet
fever, a rarely gifted child; aged 6 years, 3 months
and 13 days.
TO MRS. ALLIE M. BLAIR ON THE DEATH OF
I Peter I,24: "For all flesh is grass; and all
the glory of man as the flower of the grass; the
grass withereth and the flower thereof fadeth
The beautiful floweret that bloomed
In thy earthyl home so bright
Now mouldering lies entomb'd
Awaiting the mortal blight.
No more will thy arms enfold
That delicate bud that was given,
Nor press the form of heavenly mould
To cherish or fit for heaven.
Then who would bid the weep no more
For this the first one gone,
Though thou canst call her never more
From 'mid the heavenly throng.
Yet, in thy heart sweet memories set,
And hopes that withered lie,
Thou hast a gem in coronet
Before the throne on high.
E. M. B.
