ONCE LIVED AT UNION VILLAGE

Resident of Shaker Community Dies Last Week in New York

Sister Anna Belle Goepper, aged 66, one of seven survivors of the once-thriving Niskayuna Shaker community Schenectady, N. Y. and a native of Lebanon, died last Friday after a long illness. Her death leaves only six members in a Shaker Community that once numbered 5,000.

Sister Goepper entered Union Village, Lebanon Shaker settlement in 1877 and lived here until the colony disbanded over twenty years ago. Since then she has resided in Niskayuna.

Funeral services were held last Saturday at Schenectady with burial in the Niskayuna Cemetery. Mrs. Miles Hamilton, of Lebanon, is a sister.
