HARVEY
C. WHITACRE
Harvey C. Whitacre
was born near Butlerville, Ohio, March 7, 1880. His father is a descendant
of one of the early settlers of Warren County, who came from Virginia
and settled near Morrow, Ohio. He received his early schooling at the
Butlerville schools, and after graduating under the Boxwell law, in 1895,
he attended the Blanchester high school, from which he graduated in the
class of 1899. He afterwards attended the National
Normal University from which he received the degree of Bachelor of
Science, in 1901. Before he had completed his last year in the Scientific
course of this institution, he was elected principal of his home school
at Butlerville. He is now teaching in the Lebanon public schools. |

Robert
Newlin Whitacre and his wife, Patience Kartherine (Lind) Whitacre
- sometime before 1914
Laurie
Muise writes,
"sending you a pic of MY paternal 2nd great grandfather:
Robert Newlin Whitacre
& his wife Patience Katherine "Katie" nee Lind.
Robert was the s/o: Coulson Payne Whitacre (1814- abt
1849) & Eleanor nee Thompson ( 1812- bet 1850-1855).
They married on 25 Aug 1831 in Warren County, OH. He (Robert) was 1 of
9 children born of their union. Robert was b: 19 Jun
1845 and d: 11 Jan 1935 in Morrow, Warren Co, OH. He married Patience
Lind ( 1847-1914) on 13 Sept 1866 and together they had 7 children:
Mary Edith (my great grandmother), Katherine
Mae, Francis Elizabeth, Hallie Ann/Harris
N. (twins), Sarah Eleanor & Thomas
J. Whitacre. Robert N. Whitacre was a farmer
by profession and was a Civil
War Veteran.
The 1890 Veteran's Census indicates that he was "shot thru the hand"
during his service in the war.
Both Robert & Patience are buried in the Morrow
IOOF Cemetery, Warren Co, OH."
