Birth and Death Records
1867-1908 card file at Probate Court contains all pertinent data which are recorded in the original volume; page is listed on the card. For 1908 to date, information is located at the Wayne County Health Department.
1812 to date, Recorder's Office, Wayne County Administration Building, has all records. Index tells where to find deed. Listing is by last name and initial of first name (Campbell index), with separate columns for grantor and grantee.
Marriages, 1813 to date
In Probate Court at the Court House. First four volumes are on microfilm; each volume is indexed by male and female.
Recorder's Officed has grave registrations and three volumes of soldiers' discharges. Cards includes information concerning soldiers discharged who filed their papers in Wayne County. Records can also be found at the Veteran's Service Commission, 2534 Burbank Rd., Wooster, OH 44691.
Clerk of Courts has index on cards before 1850. Records after 1852 are in Probate Court. Index to these records is also at Wayne County Public Library in the Genealogy Department.
Will and Estate Records
1812 to date, separate book lists records 1812-1852; card index lists those since. Case number enables you to request original records; in Probate Court. These records are now on microfilm.
