This quilt was made by Esther Strock, one of our members who enjoys quilting. It includes all the pioneers that have been approved for Wayne County Pioneer Families. There is another panel, not shown here, that has families which have been approved since the orginial quilt was made. As soon as a proper case can be found for the quilt, it will hang on the wall in the Genealogy Section of the Wayne County Library. Below is a list of the pioneers and the townships where they were first proved in Wayne County.
The primary objective of the Wayne County Pioneer Families is to honor the earliest pioneers of Wayne County, Ohio and to recognize their descendants. Pioneer ancestors eligible are those that settled in Wayne County, Ohio prior to 1826. An application may be downloaded here.
