AT WAKEMAN

ILLUMINATED

Norwalk Reflector, Wednesday, July 17, 1935

The light of the noon-day sun will be rivalled by the night baseball lighting system installed by the Wakeman Red Caps on their baseball field at the western edge of the village on Route 20.

In the effulgent rays, of 32, 1500 kilowat lamps the field will appear almost as clearly defined as in the day time. Total kilowat light power is 50,000. This equipment is precisely the same as is used by the House of David team and other noted traveling outfits, reports Don Gerber, Red Sox manager.

On Wednesday night, July 24, the Red Caps and the Keller News of Norwalk will clash. It’s Charles Bemus’ turn to hurl for the Red Caps, and Bartlome will stand back of the plate. Carter probably will pitch for the Kellers and Stoll likely will catch.

Regardless of the outcome, the crowd is certain to see a spirited and worthwhile contest. Wakeman is itching to get revenge for the defeat inflicted by the Kellers recently.
