Linda Stewart, April 4, 2000 - GIBBENS - JOBES - MUNDAY/MUNDY
My great grandfather, Andrew Jackson GIBBENS, was born
in Nov 1844 in Bronson, Branch Co, MI. He lived in Williams Co, OH with his parents Frederick GIBBENS and Ann (FERRIER) GIBBENS
in 1860. He joined the Civil War in Michigan City, IN. He married Elizabeth JOBES in 1867 in Camden, Hillsdale Co, MI. He had a child, Francis,
in 1868 (I don't know if this is a male or female). He had a daughter, Bertha, in 1872. They were born in either Williams Co, OH or Hillsdale Co, MI.
Elizabeth and Andrew were divorced in 1877 in Williams Co, OH. The next I know of him was in 1879 when he married Adella R. TAYLOR,
daughter of Dr. James Bishop TAYLOR and Sarah Pricilla HALL, in Williams Co, OH. He was living with Della and Bertha in 1880
according to the census for Williams Co, OH. They must have been divorced (Della didn't die until 1903) but Andrew remarried in 1884 in
DeKalb Co, IN. He married Martha Jane HENDRICKS, daughter of Samuel King HENDRICKS and Martha Jane PRICHARD. Martha
and Andrew moved to Smith Co, KS where my grandfather, Verne GIBBENS, and his brother, Henry GIBBENS, were born. They moved
to Campbell, Franklin Co, NE where he lived until his death in 1904. Bertha died in her teens. Frederick, Andrew's father, lived in Edon,
Williams Co, OH until his death. He was listed on the 1870 Williams Co, OH census as being married to Sarah MUNDAY, widow of John MUNDAY.
They were married in 1863. They had a son, Jefferson GIBBENS, in 1866. Also living with them was a son of John and Sarah MUNDAY, George
MUNDY (this is how it was spelled on the census). Frederick is buried in West Buffalo Cemetery and Ann in Leggett Cemetery (it used to be named
Gibbens Cemetery because he donated land for the cemetery.)

Do you have any information about Andrew GIBBENS, Frederick GIBBENS, Francis GIBBENS, John MUNDAY, Sarah MUNDAY, Elizabeth
JOBES or Jefferson GIBBENS? Any help or advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Linda Wilbur, April 23, 2000 - HOLLINGSHEAD, etc.
I desperately need vital data and family information for a William
HOLLINGSHEAD. This William was married to Louisa MYRINDA on 26 November, 1810 or 1820 in Athens Co., OH.
He went to Jackson Co., OH (where one Daniel Hollingshead sold him some land in 1816), then to Williams Co.,OH.
According to my source, he is supposed to have died in Williams Co. in 1841.  She also says that he was a War of 1812 veteran.
One of his probable children was my great-great grandfather, Nathaniel Hollingshead. Nathaniel married Charlotte SPAKE
10 November, 1849 in Williams Co.  I feel that I am on the right track as Louisa Hollenshead, age 77, was living with Nathaniel
and his family in the 1870 census for Camden, Hillsdale Co., MI.  I have had a very difficult time finding parents for Nathaniel
because - even though he died in 1893 - there seems to be no existing Michigan death record for him. Any assistance anyone
can give me with this thorny genealogical problem would be greatly appreciated. I will also share what I have on the family
with any interested party.

Susanna MERCHANT is still living in Tuscarawas Co. in the 1900 census with one child, William MERCHANT, age 20. Susanna disappears after
1900, and I would like to know what happened to her. Since, Isaac was born in Williams County, I was wondering if anyone knows anything

Thanks for any help.

Mike Naughton, July 9, 2000 - BETZ, MANON, McDOWELL,
I am researching my G-Grandfather, Horatio Clarence McDowell. The information I have is that he was born in Center township,
Williams Center, Williams Co. Ohio Jan. 06 1851. He died Jan.11 1945 in Petoskey, MI.He married Rebecca Frances Manon,
b.Jan 03 1859 in Ohio ( I do not know where) died May 13 1912 in Petoskey MI, her parents were Jacob Manon and Elizabeth Betz.
Because of the timing of his birth, and the census, and general lack of record keeping I have had no luck at all in even finding any proof
of his existence. And I know he did, but I do not have the access to any place that may have some type of information. Is there any way
that you may be able to help me find something that will allow me to continue. I have been at a standstill for 3 yrs.

Kathleen Choi, Aug. 23, 2000 - CLARK
Anson CLARK came with Thomas CLARK to LaGrange Co., Indiana.  According to The History of LaGrange Co., they were
previously residents of Ohio and came "up through the Black Swamp on the Dayton road."  That would suggest they either resided or
passed through Williams Co.  Can anyone tell me anything about these men, particularly Anson CLARK.  I have an ancestor by
that name who married in LaGrange Co. & then disappeared!   Thanks in advance for any assistance.

I am a researcher from Wales, U.K. and wonder if you can help. I have recently found an advertisement (cut from a newspaper) stuck

himself suits never fail to fit. My tailors are masters of the trade and I feel perfectly justified in warranting satisfaction in quality, style
and fit.  LONGS' BLOCK, BRYAN, Ohio " I know nothing more but assume he married one of my ancestors and they left Devon,
England to settle in the U.S.A. at the end of the 19th century. I would be most grateful for any information or help you can supply.

Shelly Cardiel, Oct. 21, 2000 - KRABILL
I've "rescued" an old photograph of Florence KRABILL taken at the J.E. Beach Studio in Bryan, Williams County, Ohio. The photograph
was likely taken in the early 1900's and Florence appears to be about 15 years of age at the time. I believe this may be Florence L. KRABILL
who was born in Wisconsin 16 March 1890 and died in San Diego County California 21 June 1974. Since she was still using this name at the
time of her death I'm guessing she may have never married. If you are a member of this KRABILL family or know someone who might
be related, please contact me. I'd like to find Florence's family and return the photograph, lovely photos like this one belong with family,
deserve to be passed from generation to generation.

1. David HOUSER. Born in 1835 in Holmes County, Ohio? David died in West Unity, Williams, Ohio about 1866, he was 31.
On 7 February 1856 when David was 21, he married Susanna BARNHART, in Williams County, Ohio. Born around 1839.

They had the following children;

i. Addison B.. Born about December 1856.

iii. Lillie May. Born about 1865.

I have obtained a 100+ page guardianship file on Effie Jane and her siblings in Wayne County, for the apparent death of David
and/or Susanna in 1866. Effie married Samuel DINTAMAN in 1879 in Wayne County (my 2G grandparents), which is how
I found it there. The paperwork refers to a lot that was owned by David in West Unity at the time of his death and was sold.
The guardian was Addison, and referenced to a residence in Iowa. Money was dispersed to the children when they reached legal age.
