All photos here sent to me by James Bishop,
jbishop44@verizon.net
These photos were all together in a photo album he purchased
They are all tin types and were already identified by some person unknown
Some have the city for the individual, some just have "U.S." for United States I
presume
James wrote me this note: "I'm attaching files of the tin type and other
type photos contained in the album. I tried at first to see if I would be able
to slide each tin type out of the page in which it appears in the album. But,
even using tweezers with cloth protection, it was much too difficult and after
one or two efforts, I stopped. I did not want to destroy what quality of the tin
types and album remains in attempting that process. So, I tried to get each page
with all those on the page. Thus, 01 OH tin type is the first page... 02-03 OH
Tin Type is pages 2 and three, and so forth. You'll see a couple of images which
I was able to remove. Those are numbered first by the page on which they appear,
and secondly as to the number of the photo, counting each photo pocket. It
should coincide also with the file which I'm attaching of the entire album.
I spent some time tracking down some of these families and found that most of
them may be located either in the 1870 or 1880 U. S. Census records available on
Ancestry.com and/or familysearch.org or com.
I hope you like the outcome. Someone who had the album earlier tried sewing a
blue thread to tighten some of the photo pockets and also tried removing them
with bare tweezers or other implement which unfortunately did some minor damage
by way of scratches on some of the tin types."
James is no relation to these people but has looked them up in census for more

Living in the household with them was J. von Gaviston, 38, M, W, servant born in Bavaria, both his parents were of foreign birth. The family of Harmon Mader was also listed - Roll M593_1186, p 339, image 61, Ancestry.com image 36 of 105 - http://content.ancestry.com/iexec/?htx=View&r=an&dbid=7163&iid=OHM593_1186-0061- enum 23 June 1870, dwelling 61, family 65; Mader, Harmon 45, M, W, laborer, born in Saxony, both parents of foreign birth; Mader, Amelia 44, F, W, keeping house, born in Saxony, both parents of foreign birth; Mader, Charles 20, M, W, works in brick yard, born in Saxony. Wm. Blicke family was also in 1870 Census in Bucyrus: Wm was age 4, born in Ohio, about 1865; his parents were Frank (35 born in Prussia) and Theresa Blicke (33, born in Saxony), and there were two other children - Caroline 2, and "sister" Blicke age 4 months. 6. There were many Volrath names in the same census, although none of the females had the given name, Melissa. 7. Swift, Anabella was listed in the 1870 Census as Bell Swift living in Upper Sandusky, Wyandot county, age 6, born in Ohio. She had a brother, Lincoln, age 2, also born in Ohio. If this is the Anabella pictured in the tin type, the listed parents were John Swift, 36, born in PA and Susan Swift 34, born in Ohio. John was a carpenter, and both his parents were not of foreign birth; Susan was "keeping house" and both her parents were of foreign birth. 8. Myrtle Kenan and Lena M. Kenan Family A search of Ancestry.com census images in 1870 revealed some Kenan surnames but none which would match Mirtie, unless it was an "un-named" female KENAN of one month. A search at familysearch.org, 1880 census, failed to produce a Kenan; but, did a contained a Mirtie Keenan within the following family: Alvin KEENEN Self M Male W 47 OH Real Estate Dealer VA OH Olive KEENEN Wife M Female W 42 OH Keeps House OH NY Ernest KEENEN Son S Male W 22 OH R R Employee OH OH Cora KEENEN Dau S Female W 18 OH At Home OH OH Mirtie KEENEN Dau S Female W 15 OH At Home OH OH Earl KEENEN Son S Male W 12 OH Attending School OH OH Jessie KEENEN Dau S Female W 5 OH OH OH Ray KEENEN Son S Male W 2 OH OH OH Samuel KEENEN Father W Male W 74 VA Retired Farmer IRELAND NJ Frank KEENEN Brother S Male W 30 OH Grocery Clerk VA VT 9.
