Note from Phil on this photo:

2005: This photo was sent from America to England to the Great Grandmother of Phil Stead. Her name was Eleanor (Smith) Milton who died in 1919. On the back is inscribed: "For Aunt Ellen, from William Parker. A Merry Christmas and Happy New Year". Photo was taken in Upper Sandusky, OH by photographer Trowbridge.

July 2005: "I have identified the people in the photograpph. They are William Parker and his brothers, Thomas Smith Parker, George Parker, Richard Parker, Morris Parker, James Parker and John Parker. They all immigrated form England between 1857 and approx 1885. William and George fought in the Civil War for Ohio Volunteer infantry. All were farm labourers and then farmers; William was successful and is recorded buiding a large house in1878 costing $2000 near Fowler (later called Harpster). William's six brothers all worked for John Woods farm in Pitt Township when they arrived in US.
I am looking now for someone with contacts in or near Harpster to see if any of the brothers have desecendants in the area. I think they would appreciate a copy of my photo, taken in 1907, of the brothers just after their mothers funeral."

August 2005: "After further research, I know know who the people in the photo were. I believe the photo was taken in 1908. The men in the photo were the Parker brothers; William, Thomas Smith, George, Richard, Jim, John and Morris. I now know that the Morris brothers were my grandfathers cousins. Apparently William Morris was quite well know in Wyandot county as I have found the following reference to him in 1884 Wyandot county, Ohio history.

"WILLIAM PARKER, son of Thomas and Eliza (Smith) Parker, was born in Lincolnshire, England, May 22, 1839. He worked several years in his native country at 8 cents to 16 cents per day, and emigrated to America in 1857; he made his home with his uncle, Mr. Plum, and did daily labor two years, when he began farming for himself; he was married December 17, 1861, to Elizabeth, daughter of Christopher Wise. They had three children, two living-William H. and John E.; Mary E. is deceased. Mrs. Parker died April 27, 1866, aged twenty-six years, and Mr. Parker was married October 8, 1868, to Miss Eliza Marsh, daughter of Mahlon Marsh. In 1870, he purchased a farm of forty acres, valued at $80 per acre, and in 1876 added twelve acres near Fowler, erecting a fine residence, costing $2,000, in 1878. Himself and wife are members of the Methodist Episcopal Church, he being a Republican in politics."

I do not know if there any descendants of this family still in the Wyandot area."
