Location in Crawford twp., within the Ritchy cemetery it is .8 mile east of SR 199 on TR
29 east of the village of Crawford.
He was burned at the stake here. Roger Higgins~Findlay, Oh owns the land that the Crawford monument sets on.... you could probably contact him for more information on the area note from Scott Baker: take the exit for SR 199 to the north of Upper Sandusky. Travel north on 199 about 5 miles to the wide spot in the road called Crawford, which is at the intersection of 199 and Township Road 29. There is a brick Methodist Church on the NW corner - turn right (east) on 29 and go about 1 mile where you will see a bronze Ohio Historical Marker about Colonel Crawford - turn left (north) and go down the lane to a group of trees: that is the Ritchie Cemetery. If you cross the Tymochtee Creek you went too far, turn around and go back to Crawford. |
