Sudden Death of Dow MCELVANY
The death angel touched Dow McElvany while he slept in the early hours of Sunday morning and his soul passed peacefully into the great beyond.
Mr. MCELVANY had been in Prague Friday night and until late afternoon Saturday, returning to his home with Mr. and Mrs. R.T.TOWERS, northeast of town Saturday evening in the best of health. He retired at the usual hour and when members of the family went in to awake him Sunday morning found him lifeless.
Dow McElvany was born in Winston County, Mississippi, on August 29, 1855 and died April 9, 1933, aged 77 years, 7 months and 10 days. He moved from Mississippi to Texas in 1899 and from there to Oklahoma in 1901.
He has since lived near Prague making his home up until six years ago with his brother W.R. MCELVANY. For the past six years he has resided with Mr. and Mrs. R.T. Towers at thier home northeast of town.
He was converted in 1880 and lived a beautiful christian life, but id not unite with a church as he did not live where the church of his choice had an organization.
He is survived by four brothers J.S. McElvany of Gatesville, Texas, C.B. McElvany of Mansfield, Texas, J.A. McElvany of Wayne, Texas, and W.R.McElvany of Prague. Two brothers and one sister preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held at the M.P. Church Monday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Hickman took as his text John 14-1 "Let not your heart be troubled." Music was rendered by Mrs. BRADWAY, Mrs. NEWHOUSE, Mr. DUNCAN and Mr. FARLEY, Burial was made in the Prague cemetery.

Services Wed. For Ruben TOWER
Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Methodist church for Ruben ( Shorty) Tower, 78, who died at his home northeast of Prague early Monday morning after a long illness. Tower came from Indiana and settled at the present address about 50 years ago.
Survivors in include his wife; two sons, Ray Tower, Norman and Glen Tower, Oklahoma City.
Parks Brothers funeral home had charge of the funeral arrangements.
