C.P.C. MCKNIGHT, who resides near Waurika
and has for some time been afflicted with bronchitis, was found dead early
last Friday morning.
Mr. McKnight was 70 years of age, born in Georgia and moved to Alabama when a child, lived there until 1871 when he moved to Texas and resided there until two years ago. He has four children living, three girls and one son, J.W. Mr. Mcknight had been a Mason for 40 years, and was also a member of the Methodist church.
The remains was laid to rest in the Sugden cemetary.
Note: According to his marker in the Sugden Cemetary he died 1 Jan 1904. He was born 25 Nov 1833 in Georgia and married Martha Matilda ALSOBROOK 9 Sept 1858 in Chambers Co. Alabama.
He was a Confederate vetern having served as 1st Segt. Co. H 47th Alabama from 5 May 1862 through the surrender at Appomatox April 15, 1865.
