Rising Sun Cemetery Blaine County Oklahoma |
Cemetery is located 5.5 South of Eagle City on Hiway 58 and 1/2 mile west
on
dirt road.
There once was a church on the outside of the cemetery fence and the negro
school
Haywood 2 miles north. This burial ground is not maintained. When I visited
this
rural cemetery in 1998, gravestones with portraits of black persons were standing.
December 2005 these gravestones were no longer standing or even found. I have
included
two lists, the first marked graves and the next found markers piled
under
a ceder tree. Requests for complete headstone inscriptions, burial order or
