QUERY: BETTS...Searching for any information on David C. BETTS. Believe he married a Choctaw woman known only as Nancy about 1840-1842. Their son Ramsey Douglas BETTS was born in Kiamitia County Mar. 22, 1842. David moved to Blue County and remarried. It is not known what happened to Nancy. Any help appreciated.

QUERY: Robinson, Rushing, Simmons
I am seeking info on my g-grandmother Maud ROBINSON (b. abt 1888 in I.T.), daughter of Fred and Arizona (Zona) ROBINSON. She had a child (Bessie, my grandmother) in abt 1908 in Bryan County, OK. She married a W.D. Rushing (3-26-1910 in Durant, Bryan, OK). I think she died not long after in childbirth. Bessie married Ira Lee SIMMONS in 1924 and lived for a while in Caddo, Bryan, OK. I am also seeking info on my g-uncle & g-aunt Robert (Bob) and Clara SIMMONS who lived in Caddo, Bryan, OK around 1920. Clara was still living there in 1958 (from the obituary of her sister Tennie Anderson SIMMONS). This is the last I know of her. Any help would be appreciated. Please E-mail.

BETTS...Searching for descendants of Ramsey Douglas BETTS, born 1842 in Kiamitia County (now Choctaw) Indian Territory. Married Emmaline LATTIN in Blue County. Both were one half Choctaw. Received their land allotments at Wards Chapel near Boggy Depot in Atoka County. Settled there and raised their family. Ramsey was a Baptist preacher and ministered to the Choctaws in their native language. He served in a Choctaw regiment in the Confederate Army and was in several battles. Has many descendants in Atoka County.

Fred Hill was my father and died at Durant in 1948, he operated a shoe repair shop for many years on main st. in Durant. He married Birdie Hammons or Hammond, they had eight children, I am the youngest. Mattie Hill Bauman lived in Durant all her life was married to Albid Bauman, they had no children. My gg-grandparents Frederick R. and Arizona (Zona) ROBINSON, m. abt 1884, both died in the 1920’s and were burried in Highland Cemetery, Durant, OK. My g-grandmother Maud ROBINSON born abt.1889 in Indian Territory, had a child, my grandmother Bessie in abt 1908 and married W.D. RUSHING in Durant in 1910. I am told that Maud died not long after that, but nobody knows for sure. I am also seeking info or descendants of my g-uncle & g-aunt Robert (Bob) and Clara (ANDERSON) SIMMONS who lived in Caddo in the 1920’s. Clara was still living in Caddo in 1958 according to the obituary of her sister Tennie (ANDERSON) SIMMONS (my g-grandmother). This is the last record I have of Clara. Any help appreciated. I am looking for information on my grandparents and great-grand parents. Their names are ROBERT COLBERT TURNER born at Aylesworth OK. 1869. His parents were JOHN TURNER BORN OK. NANCY ROARCH BORN OK. Siblings of John and Nancy were; Nannie Turner, Frank Turner, Abe Turner,Henry Turner,Pic Turner,and my grandfather- Robert Turner. I need to know where I can find the cementary records for Aylesworth---I understand that the burial grounds were moved when Lake Texoma was built. I also would like to find out where the marriage records were kept. My grandfather married OLA ANDLE CORA PAYNE at Alyesworth and were married my a Charlie Darrow. If any one has any information it would be greatly appreciated.

My ggg grandfather was Cobile Asbury Ash or Coleman Asbury Ash. He was born in Cleveland, GA. He went to Oklahoma sometime between 1900 and 1920. He died there about 1924. His son, William Sherman Ash b. 1875 in Cleveland, GA died in Okmulgee, OK on Dec. 24, 1953. William's son, Arley Hershel Ash was born Feb. 27, 1898 and died in California on Dec. 2, 1983. I would like to know as much as possible about this family. I've just begun my search and any advice would be most appreciated.
