Cox; Vaught
Have a relative that i think was born in Caddo Co OK...her name was Clarissa Elizabeth Lizzie Cox, she was born 1880 she had a brother William Major Cox he was born 1884. She is on the 1900 census for Indian Territory in the Choctaw area in Eufaula OK married to my Otho Vaught..she listed Ohio as her birth place but death certificate says Caddo, Anadarko, OK since Otho and family lived in Texas and Indian Territory from 1876-1920 i would have to say that OK birth place looks better. Since she was married with children in 1900--i can't find her parents....family stories say mother died either from Indian attack or childbirth (i think later) and father gave children to someone else to raise...Lizzie may have been given to a paster's family. I am at a loss as to how to find her parents--can any one help me?????? or at least point me in the right direction..... She died in Texas and her husband died in OK they were separted in later years---could not figure out why Otho is living in Pauls Valley OK and wife and children in TX but now one knows-----there has to be family somewhere
