In 1913 five one-room schools (
Broxton, dist #68; Cash Valley, dist #57; Hale, dist #30; Hog Creek,
dist # 53; and Prairie View II, dist.#55) were consolidated into a one
school system. In 1914 the two-story building was finished and called
the Broxton Consolidated School.
The first school board members were
J.W. Coats, Philetus Bagley and Joe Hemming.
The first superintendent was Mr. Bates who had taught in one of the
one-room schools.
The first school wagon drivers were Frank Wiedemaier and Mr. McCollum.
The first janitor was Russell Rorth.
The first graduates were Hazel Roberts and Hazel Carl, graduating in 1917.
Broxton became an accredited school in 1926.

Note:
William Lanier married Marie O'Briant. I'm not positive what year this
was taken, but based on the dob of Buddy O'Briant, the earliest it could have been
was 1931. Based on the dob of Marie O'Briant, the latest it could have been was
spring 1934; my guess is probably 1933.
