THE C.C.G.S. LIBRARY
Through the efforts of
the entire membership, the
Society has established an
impressive Genealogical
Library, which is open to
the public. We believe that
family history researchers
can and will make good use
of the collections
available. |
 |
The Oklahoma Collection
contains information on Oklahoma
Territory, Cleveland County, other
Oklahoma counties, the State of
Oklahoma, and various Native
American tribes.
The Oklahoma Collection also
includes all the documents submitted
by 161 early Cleveland County
families. These documents include
marriage licenses, birth and death
certificates, homestead papers and
land records, cemetery records and
some photos. Copy service is
available.
The main library contains
information on most states in the
U.S., many donated family histories,
and extensive reference materials,
including pension application
indexes to the Revolutionary War and
the War of 1812.
The library is staffed and
maintained by CCGS member
volunteers. The Society is totally
self-supporting and is not a part of
the Norman Public Library or the
Pioneer Multi-County Library System.
We believe it is our responsibility to preserve
local history and provide special facilities for
everyone, locals and travelers alike, who are
interested in genealogical and historical research.
The continued support of our members, visitors,
and the community is needed to keep the C.C.G.S.
library a welcome and valuable addition to the area. |
