BRISTOW - Troy L. "Buck" Gaasch, 71, of Bristow died Sept. 16 after a lengthy illness. 

Services were Thursday at Seventh Day Adventist Church of Bristow, with Pastor Bill Norman officiating. 

Burial was in Bristow City Cemetery under the direction of Hutchins-Maples Funeral Home, Bristow. 

Casket bearers were Bob Welker, Danny Stebbins, Jack Harris, Charlie Pendergrass, Ernest Beecher, Kim Hotall and Bob McCarty. 

Mr. Gaasch was bom May 15, 1919, in Newby. He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church and the American Legion. 

He served in the Phillipines in World War II and earned a Purple Heart and numerous other medals. 

He owned a grocery store in California until his retirement in 1982. He previously worked for the Liberty Glass Co. 

Mr. Gaasch was preceded in death by his wife, Cleffie, in 1975. 

Survivors include son Charles L. Gaasch of Bristow; daughters Wilma James of Long Beach, Calif., Kay Adkins of Bristow and Willa Barnum of Bakersfield, Calif.; brothers John William Caasch of Tulsa and Carl Lee Gaasch and Albert Charles Gaasch, both of Bristow; 19 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and two great- great-grandchildren.
