Elder Vernon Hopkins, 82, of Sapulpa, died Jan. 18, at St. John’s Medical Center in Tulsa.

Services will be at 1 pm Monday at Mount Olive Baptist Church, Sapulpa. Burial will be at St. John Cemetery, Sapulpa, with arrangements by Jack’s Memory Chapel of Tulsa.

He was born on Nov 10, 1905, in Mississippi. He was a resident of Sapulpa for more than 40 years. Mr. Hopkins was employed by Frisco Railroad for 23 years. He was a bishop of the Ethiopian Reform Coptic Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife Rosie Hopkins of Sapulpa; three sons; four daughters two sisters; one brother; 14 grandchildren.
