Kellyville – Mrs. J. W. (Mattie) Leverett, 89, died Tuesday at her residence in Kellyville.

Services will be 2pm Friday at Schumacher Funeral Chapel, Bristow, with the Rev. Jonas Partridge officiating.

Burial will be at Bristow City Cemetery.

She was born Sep 18, 1900, in Putnam, Indian Territory. She married J. W. Leverett Aug 9, 1917, in Duncan. A housewife, she lived in Creek County since 1924 after moving here from Cement.

Mrs. Leverett was Pentecostal and a member of the Creek County Fair Women’s Club.

She was preceded in death by her husband on Feb 12 1982, and her daughter, Rosa Lee Leverett, on Sep 18, 1982.

Survivors include sons Raymond Leverett and Leon Leverett, both of Kellyville, Donald Leverett of Bristow and Doyal Leverett of Sapulpa; daughters Cora Lee HARRIOTT of Bristow, Opal WARMOTH and Lennie WISE of Tulsa, Maudine HEATHCOCK of Sapulpa and June PHILPOTT of Kellyville; sisters Bessie Leverett of Alex and Berba C. BUTLER of Las Vegas, NV; 21 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; one great-grandchild (sic); and several nieces and nephews.
