Delbert (Buster) Long, 72, of Tulsa, died Thursday at Ranch Terrace Nursing Home.

Services will be 10 am Monday at First Baptist Church, Sapulpa, with the Revs. David Houchin and Alvin Hedin officiating.

Burial will be at Green Hills Memorial Gardens under the direction of Owen Funeral Home.

Mr. Long lived in this area most of his life and was a well-known heavy equipment operator for Fair Oil Company before retiring in 1985. He married Dulcie Reed in Sapulpa in 1945.

He was a World War II Veteran and a longtime member of First Baptist Church.

Survivors include wife Dulcie; son Steven Long of Tulsa; daughter Virginia Asher of Arnold, Md.; brother Herbert Long of Ada; sisters Rose Jordan of San Jose, Calif., Dorothy Smith of Stockton, Calif., and Thelma Ackerman, Anna Lucas, Evelyn Boren and Zeda Smith, all of Sapulpa; and two grandchildren.

The family will headquarter at Mr. Long’s residence, 8219 S. 67th W. Ave.

Services for Delbert Long were today at the First Baptist Church with the Revs. Alvin Hedin and David Houchin officiating.

Burial followed at Green Hills Memorial Gardens under the direction of Owen Funeral Home.

Casket bearers were Sonny Long, Randy Ward, Ron Smith, Bill Robbins, Junior Robbins and Stanley Treat.

Honorary casket bearers were Ben Wright, Price Lierly, Scott Hudgins, Dub Smith, Wash Thomson and Halbert Chonnell.

Mr. Long died Thursday at Ranch Terrace Nursing Home.
