Susan Frances (Lawson) McKenna, 48, Edmond, died Saturday, Nov 11, 2000, at the Edmond Regional Hospital.

Services are scheduled for 10 am Thursday at the First Baptist Church, Cushing. Rev. George E. Brock, III will officiate. Interment will follow in the Shamrock Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Davis Funeral Home.

McKenna was born May 5, 1952, to Philip Nelson "Blackie" Lawson and Frankie (Griffith) Lawson-Smith in Phoenix, Ariz. She lived with her parents in the Phoenix area up until 1961 when they moved to Oklahoma. They briefly lived in Norman before moving to Oklahoma City where McKenna attended high school up until her junior year. They moved to Cushing where she finished her high school education.

She married Tom McKenna and the couple had one daughter, Lawren.

McKenna was a member of the First Christian Church in Cushing. She previously attended the University of Central Oklahoma for three years. At the time of her death, she was working for the Edmond Santa Fe School system in their Dietary Department.

She is preceded in death by her father and one brother, Lael Anthony Lawson.

McKenna is survived by her daughter, Lawren McKenna, of the home; her mother, Frankie Smith and her husband Harold, Tulsa; one brother, Phillip Lawson and wife Barbara, Anoka, Minn.; one aunt, Wilma Phillips, Broken Arrow; several nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
