Silas Uen Skaggs, 73, of Bristow, died Sunday in Tulsa.

Services were scheduled for 11 am today at Trinity Baptist Church with Rev. Roland Tidwell officiating.

Burial followed at Magnolia Memorial Gardens under the direction of Schumacher Funeral Home of Bristow.

He was born January 12, 1919 in Milfay, was a Creek County resident most of his life and a member of Trinity Baptist Church.

Skaggs was a retired barber having worked in Bristow, Stroud, Sapulpa, Okmulgee and Tulsa, for twenty-five years.

He enjoyed fishing and loved his grandchildren.

Mr. Skaggs was preceded in death by seven brothers and one sister.

Survivors include his former wife, Bessie; sons, David of Bristow, and Michael of Tonganoxie, Kansas; daughters, Helen Miller of Kansas City, Kan., and Evely Jones of Bristow; brothers, Monroe of Gardenia City, Calif.; sisters, Hazel Robinson of Visilia, Calif., Marie Tompson of Castle, and Irene Claunch of Bakersfield, Calif.; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
