 Cite Your Sources Here: N. G. BOWLES had work permits in 1871 & 1873 for working 
on the Addington Ranch near Marietta (Love) I.T. Various BOWLES family members 
and connecting lines filed in 1900 with the DAWES Commission for recognition as 
being of Choctaw descent. In 1902 the DAWES Commission rejected the application. 
John F. BOWLES was the postmaster in BOWLES, I.T. (OK) from 1903 til 1912. Various
family members are buried in the Mahata/Addington Bend Cemetery (Love) Oklahoma
