a family record found in a Bible which has been donated to the Friends of the
Library [Oklahoma City Metropolitan Library]. It will be offered for sale
during the their annual book sale.
This record was copied and submitted by Dava Sanders Woodard of Del City.
The Bible belonged to R.T.M. Roberts, published in 1845 by the American Bible
Society, New York.
It sold for 40 cents.
Richard T.M. Roberts was born on the 14th day of January A.D. 1820
Mary Ellen Corington(?) was born in the year of our Lord 1828 April 12th
R.T.M. Roberts and Mary E. Corington were married by the Rev. H.W. Osborne
on the 20th day of November A.D. 1845
Joel Corington Roberts was born December 13th A.D. 1846
A girl babe unnamed was born March 8th and died August 19th A.D. 1849
Daughter of R.T.M. & Mary E. Roberts
James Chalmer son of R.T.M. & Mary E. Roberts was born October 31st A.D.

Mary Ellen Roberts died March 23rd A.D. 1853 aged 24 yrs, 11 mos. & 11 days
R.T.M. Roberts died March 30th A.D. 1857 Aged 37 years 2 mos. and 16 days
Joel Carington Roberts died of an accidental gunshot wound at Central City Neb.
Nov. 28th 1878
James Chalmer Roberts died Nov. 28 1927. Aged 76 years and 28 days
of a bursted muscle caused by a fall, and caused heart failure
Copy of a newpaper clipping found in the Bible - date and name of newspaper not
given:
ROBERTS -- James Chalmers Roberts, 76 years old, a retired dry good merchant,
died today at his home, 260 North Tenth Street, Kansas City, Kansas. He leaves
his widow, Mrs. Mary J. Roberts of the home, a son, Richard J. Roberts, Wewoka,
OK., and three daughters, Mrs. Albert Clothier, Chariton, IA, Mrs. Charles E.
Bowers,
Des Moines, and Mrs. Beulah Dipple of the home.
