FLOWER POT SCHOOL

FLOWER POT SCHOOL was located in the northeastern part of Harmon County, eight miles north and two miles west and 1/2 mile north of Hollis, Oklahoma. Organized in the late 1800's one of the first teachers in this one room, half dugout school was Miss Ellen Reeves. She taught lst thru 8th grades. At first only the PICKFORD COWBOYS went to school there, later settlers' children also attended. The school was named Flower Pot which was the brand of the Pickford Ranch. In 1903, Flower Pot School consolidated with the new Metcalf School No 83.
