John L. ATKINS Dies At Holdenville
News was received in Soper that John L. ATKINS had died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Minnie FRAZIER, at Holdenville last Friday, 12 o'clock, noon. Burial was had at Holdenville, Saturday afternoon.
Mr. ATKINS had been in Holdenville about a year. Last August he was stricken with paralysis but recovered sufficient to be up and about. About two weeks ago he was stricken with a second stroke.
John Lort ATKINS was born at Dardenelle, Ark., 80 years ago last August 5th.He came to this section about 16 years ago. About a year ago he went to Holdenville to live with his daughter. Besides his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Minnie FRAZIER and Mrs. Mae FRAZIER, of Holdenville; and Mrs. Zelphia HALL of Soper. Also four brothers and one sister as follows; Joe ATKINS, Soper; Jap ATKINS, Hugo; J. E. ATKINS, Dardenelle; Payton ATKINS, Ohio; Mrs. Mollie TOURS, Little Rock, Ark.
Mr. ATKINS was well and favorably known here. He was a member of the Baptist Church for many years.
