"Death of Mrs. Blake"
Mrs. Minerva Blake, wife of Tom Blake, aged 25 years, died at the family home in the southwest part of town last Saturday, and was buried Monday afternoon. The deceased leaves three children, the youngest about one month of age, and a husband to mourn her death. She died of a complication of ailments which the best medical talent of the town was unable to control. Although she had been ill for more than a month, the relapse which resulted in her death was of about a week’s duration. Funeral services were held at the home on Monday afternoon. W. T. McConnell, in charge of the ceremonies, made a few comforting remarks to the bereaved family and friends. Mrs. Blake was a member of the Christian church.
NOTE—Minerva Blake is the daughter of Samuel Robinson and Nancy Moran of Blackwell, Kay Co, OK. She was born 25 July 1877 in Kansas and died 06 July 1902 Holdenville, Hughes Co, OK and is buried in Holdenville City Cemetery, Holdenville, Hughes Co, OK. She married Thomas A. Blake 24 September 1895 in Greenwood Co, KS and had the following children Mable b. April 1896 who was Mable Jones by 1923; Myrtle b. Feb 1899 and was Myrtle Neal by 1923; Clarence R. Blake b. 07 June 1902, d. 07 August 1902 and is buried in Holdenville City Cemetery, Holdenville, Hughes Co, OK.
