Edna May BRYANT

 

            Funeral services for Edna May BRYANT were held March 10 at the Williamson Funeral Chapel in Wetumka with Rev. Don WILIAMSON officiating.

            She was born July 7, 1914 in Crawford, AR. To Lucious B. TATE and Ninnah FLETCHER and died March 8, 2004 in Hydro at the age of 89.

            She was reared in Arkansas and came to eastern Oklahoma as a young lady with her family.

            On Aug.2, 1938 she married Harlon J. BRYANT in Ft. Smith, AR. They lived in Henryetta, Wetumka and Dustin until moving to California during World War TT where Harlon worked in the shipyards. Their family returned to Dustin in 195. He preceded her in death on Jan. 11, 1976.

            Mrs. BRYANT was a homemaker whose life centered around her home, family and church. She was a long time member of the First Baptist Church of Dustin.

            She moved to Weatherford in 1987 to be near her family, especially her grandchildren.

            Mrs. BRYANT loved to cook, quilt, can food and garden.

            She was also preceded in death by brothers, Edward M. TATE and Richard E. TATE, and her parents, Lucious and Ninnah (FLETHER) TATE.

            Survivors include one son, Harvie R. BRYANT and wife, Pat of Tishomingo; two daughters, Linda BRYANT BRESHEARS and husband Robert of Dustin and Bonnie BRYANT DRAKE and husband, Sidney of Weatherford; a sister, Flossie TATE of Stroud; seven grandchildren, Judy, Melissa, Chad, Jeremy, Dustin, Gail and Bobbie; and two great-grandchildren, Tori and Gunnar.

            Interment was at Dustin Cemetery under the direction of Williamson Funeral Home.
