Charles E. "Pete" CAMPBELL

   Graveside services will be held Saturday, June 22 at 1 p.m. at the Hillcrest Cemetery in Weleetka for Charles Everett "Pete" CAMPBELL.

    Mr. CAMPBELL was born Aug. 14, 1920 in Missouri to Charles Edgar CAMPBELL and Delilah HALL CAMPBELL and died June 14 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in San Jose, Ca. at the age of 81. 

    He came to Weleetka as a small child with his family and attended Weleetka school where he graduated. He entered the United States Army and honorable served his country during World War II where he was involved in army intelligence and spent much of his active duty in Burma. He received the WWII Victory Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal American Theatre Ribbon, AP Theatre Ribbon and three Bronze Stars.

    Following his discharge he returned to Oklahoma, later relocating for a short time in Kansas. While there, he was employed by Boeing Aircraft and soon moved to California where he spent 28 years with Hughes Aircraft.. He resided 45 years in Orange County, making his home in Santa Ana.

    While in California, he was married to Sharon MOUNT and to this union two children were born. He enjoyed camping, fishing, gardening, the sun and being with his family. He was a 55 year lifetime member with the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks. 

    survivors include his son, Chad, and wife, Lisa CAMPBELL of San Jose, Ca.; a daughter, Shannon CAMPBELL of Orange; two grandchildren, Connor and Kendall of San Jose; a sister, Pauline BENSON of Ada; a brother-in-law, Truman DANIEL of Midland, Tx.; a nephew, Ron, and wife, Patsy; and several other relatives and friends.

    Interment followed under the direction of Williamson Funeral Home.
