Ora L. DAVIS Funeral Services Held Monday

     Ora L. DAVIS was born November 5, 1899, in Conway County, Arkansas to Sophia [HAWKINS] THOMPSON and Newton THOMPSON.  She died April 1, 1995 in the Holdenville Hospital at 95 years of age.

     Mrs. DAVIS was married to Fordyce G. DAVIS on October 27, 1917 in Perry, AR. and shortly afterward, they came to Oklahoma to make their home. They were farmers before moving into Holdenville in 1943, where they worked side by side in their upholstery business.  Mrs. Davis was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Holdenville for many years.  She was active in the Senior Citizens Kitchen Band until she entered the nursing home in June, 1989.

     She was a loving, caring, devoted mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched.

     She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two daughters, three brothers and three sisters.

     Survivors are one daughter and son-in-law, Inez and J. C. TAYLOR of Holdenville; three sons and daughters-in-law, Grover and Mildred of Midwest City, Raymond and Jean of Montana and Paul and Ricki of Eufaula; one special person, Pat AKIN of Holdenville; 20 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

     Funeral services were Monday, April 3 at 1:30 p.m. at the Hudson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Phil BENNETT officiating. Burial was in the Holdenville cemetery with Hudson Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

     Pallbearers were Carl SHORES, Mike SHORES, Jay DESHIELDS, Frank FOWLER, Ted BAKER and Mark STAATS.
