Addie Sue "HARJO" GERL
Funeral services were held for Addie Sue "HARJO" GERL of Sapulpa on April 9 at the Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel. Wake services were held on April 8 at the chapel. Interment followed at the Wewoka Methodist Church Cemetery in Yeager under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home.
She was born to Daniel and Irene "JOHNSON" HARJO on Jan. 11, 1965 in Talihina and died on April 4 in Tulsa at the age of 36.
She was raised in the Okmulgee area and graduated from Okmulgee High School. She had attended Okmulgee Tech School and studied as a medical assistant. She had worked at St. John Hospital in Tulsa and was presently working at Maple Wood Nursing Home as Head Nurse.
She was married to John GERL on July 14, 2000 in Eureka Springs, Ar.. They made their home in Sapulpa for about one year.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Kathryn GERL; her father, Daniel HARJO; one sister, Linda Lou POWELL and two brothers, Barney JOHNSON and Daniel HARJO, Jr.
She is survived by her husband, John GERL, of the home; two children, Ashley HARJO and Christopher HARJO, of the home; her mother, Irene CARPITCHER of Sasakwa; one brother, Eastman JOHNSON of Ada; one sister, Mary CULLEY of Holdenville; one uncle and aunt, John and Nancy BUSTER of Okmulgee and numerous other relatives.
