Helen LaDean GOREE
Funeral services for Helen LaDean (LOVE) GOREE will be held Saturday, May 25, at 10 a.m., at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home in Del City.
She was born Nov. 11, 1934 in Wetumka to Verllie Joe LOVE and Alma Beatrice (EASON) LOVE and died May 17 in Oklahoma City from complications of Parkinson's syndrome.
Mrs. GOREE was a resident of Southern Oaks Nursing Manor from January, 2001 until her death.
She made friends for life with people she met in her various roles; as a child growing up in Oklahoma and New Mexico; as an Air Force wife; as a Red Cross volunteer; as a nursing home aide; as a ;podiatrist's assistant; and as a salesperson of orthopedic and fashion shoes.
Mrs. GOREE received her GED and many certifications and college hours through the Red Cross and through her podiatry and dental assistant courses.
She worked for Loveless Shoes from 1982 until she retired in 1993 to care for her mother who was suffering from leukemia.
Mrs. GOREE wrote music, sang and played guitar. She enjoyed flowers and crafts.
She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant sister, Vernie Mae LOVE, and an aunt, Rema BAMBURG.
Survivors included her husband, MSgt (USAF Ret.) Donald Gordon GOREE of Newalla; three daughters, Cheryl Lorraine ANDERSON and Elizabeth Elaine JACKSON, both of San Antonio, Tx., and Margaret Marlaine ANDERSON of Oklahoma City, along with each of their husbands named Michael; grandchildren, Kristen Leigh JACKSON, LCpl Donald Joseph Goree JACKSON, Kevin Minoru ANDERSON, Michael Kevin ANDERSON, Jr. and Cynthia LaDean ANDERSON; uncles, Downey EASON of Tulsa and Nolan EASON of Wetumka, Al.; an aunt, Mable COSSEY of Weleetka; siblings, Gene LOVE of Irving, Tx., Jesse (Flora) LOVE of Cloudcroft, N.M., Everett (Audrey) LOVE and Bobby LOVE , all of Muskogee, Billy (Gail) LOVE of Barnsdall and Audrey (Raymond Jr.) HEDGECOCK of Antlers.
Interment will be in Wetumka Cemetery at 2 p.m. under the direction of Bill Eisenhour Funeral Homes, Inc.
