Gladys HARJO

    Funeral services for Gladys "Lonnie" HARJO were held May 28 at Trinton Indian Baptist Church with Rev. Woodrow WILSON and Rev. Nelson HARJO officiating.

    She was born March 4, 1933 in Hanna to Samuel JACKSON and Alice HILL JACKSON and died May 22 at her home in Dustin at the age of 69.

    Mrs. HARJO had lived in Hanna her entire life while living the last 10 years in Dustin.

    She was married to Joseph HARJO who preceded her in death on June 7, 1975.

    Mrs. HARJO was a long time member of Trinton Indian Baptist Church, the fourth women's leader.

    She was also preceded in death by her parents, two daughters, Josephine HARJO and Rhonda HARJO, and one son, James HARJO.

     Survivors include five sons, Eugene HARJO of Oklahoma City, Samuel HARJO of Okemah, Phillip HARJO of Dustin, Nathaniel HARJO of Hectorville and William HARJO of Livingston, Tx.; three daughters, Lillian TIGER of Oklahoma City, Louise HARJO of Dustin and Ester BILLY of Holdenville; one brother, Dave JACKSON of Oklahoma City; two sisters, Edna JACKSON  of Dustin and Geneva JACKSON of Henryetta; 20 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

    Pallbearers were Bruce HARJO, Noah TIGER, Zernie BILLY, Amos LOWE and Ron PEACE. Honorary pallbearers were Jimmy LEACH, Jeff PHILLIPS, Richard FIXICO, Rev. Claburne FIELDS, Mac HAYNES, Kenneth COOPER, George FRANKS and Malcolm TIGER.

    Interment was in the JACKSON/HARJO Family Cemetery under the direction of Robert Simons Funeral Home of Henryetta.
