John Paul Cot JONES

            Funeral services will be held March 11 at Hudson-Phillips Chapel, Holdenville, for John Paul Cot JONES. Rev. Joe ROBINSON will officiate.

            Mr. JONES was born Jan. 10, 1930 in McLoud to William Earl and Aleetha JONES and died March 7 in Oklahoma City at the age of 74.

            He was raised in Holdenville and attended Holdenville high school. He was a Veteran of the Korean War serving with the 105th Firing Battery of the 4th Infantry Division of the Oklahoma National Guard in 1951 and 1952. He left the Guard in 1956 and worked in McAlester at the Ammunition Depot and at Tinker Air Force Base as an electrician.

            Mr. JONES also worked over the years as a roughneck in the oilfields and owned and operated his own service station and bait shop.

            He was married to Barbara WILKERSON in Holdenville Oct.6, 1957.

            Preceding him in death were his parents, two brothers, Alfred Eugene and Bill JONES and a sister, Jacquilin JONES.

            Survivors include his wife, Barbara; two brothers, Ed JONES, Amarillo, TX and Bob JONES, Raytown, MO.; three sisters, Pat CLARK, Hobart, Kay JOHNSON, Oklahoma City and Judy SHOCKLEY, Norman; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

            Pallbearers will be Bob BENNETT, Lowell WILKERSON, Dick WILKERSON, Mike WILKERSON, Pat WILKERSON and David ROGERS. Honorary bearers will be Oran CARTER, Bill MUSE, Ron OSBORNE, Sam BRDLEY and Mervin SHOCKLEY.

            Interment will be in the Holdenville Cemetery under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home.
