Elizabeth Ellen LESTER

            Elizabeth Ellen “Lizzie” LESTER passed away on Monday, May 3, 1999, at her home in Midwest City at the age of 84.

            She was born to Frank MIZE and Minnie (HAMMER) MIZE on January 17, 1915, in Denver, Oklahoma. She was reared in the Denver area and attended schools there. She later moved to Holdenville. She was married to Ernest Joe LESTER in Shawnee, Oklahoma, on July 2, 1934. They lived and farmed in Hughes County. Lizzie was a member of the Pennwest Baptist Church. She loved to sew and garden.

            She is survived by three daughters, Geneva GREEN of Holdenville; Wanda CHRISTENBERRY and husband, Harold, of Ft. Worth, Texas and Elaine BLAIR of Midwest City; five grandchildren, Stanley GREEN and wife Pauline of Wetumka, Mark GREEN of Holdenville; Regina DOWELL and husband Larry of Arlington, Texas; Paula LA GUESS of Richardson, Texas and Keith CHRISTENBERRY and wife Janet of Santa Maria, CA.; ten great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren; one sister, Esther RICHARDSON and husband Francis, of Auburn, CA along with many other nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

            Services will be held on Thursday, May 6, 1999, at the Pennwest Baptist Church at 1:30 p.m. with Reverend Ron BLANKENSHIP officiating. Interment will be at the Holdenville Cemetery under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home.
