Eloise LONG

    Funeral services for Eloise LONG were held July 29 at Salt Creek Indian Methodist Church.

    A Holdenville resident, she died July 26 at Deaconess Hospital in Oklahoma City after a short illness at the age of 85.

    She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. David LONG St.,  her parents, one daughter, Betsy LONG, one sister and one brother.

    Survivors include one son, Rev. David LONG, Jr. and wife, Cogee, of Okmulgee; one daughter, Barbara LONG of Oklahoma City; granddaughter, Melissa GARDNER and husband, Bill, of Oklahoma City; grandson, David LONG III and wife, Shawn of Muskogee; great-grandchildren, Billy GARDNER, Phyllis GARDNER and Caleb LONG, all of Oklahoma City; brothers, Rev. William ALEXANDER of Oakhurst and Henry HARJO of New Mexico; a sister-in-law, Melisa DEER of Holdenville; an several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

    Interment was in the Harjo Cemetery, south of the church, under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home of Holdenville.
