The Daily Oklahoman Oklahoma City, Oklahoma January 12, 1911 Mine Explosion Takes One Life Seven Hurt in Tragedy in Poteau Region, Says a Telegram From Boyle One man was killed and seven injured in a mine explosion in the Poteau mining district, according to a telegram received from State Mine Inspection Ed Boyle, Wednesday night by Governor Lee Cruce. Details are unobtainable. [NOTE: I checked January 13 and 14, 1911 and found no additional information. Information posted as courtesy to researchers.
