George Thomas Doyle
Mary Alice Elliott
George Thomas Doyle was born April 19, 1881 in Logan County Arkansas, Indian Territory to
Samuel Lafayette and Anna
(Ezell) Doyle. He died May 11, 1971 in Heavener, Oklahoma. His first marriage was to Mary Alice Elliott, daughter of Benjamin Elliott and Sarah Leath. To this union five children were born: William Thomas, Nora Millie, Anna Emma, Elsie L and Addie Mae. After the death of Mary Alice he married Jane Forehand. George and Jane had one son:
Vernon Isaac.
He obtained his social security card on July 10, 1942 when he went to work for Rohr Aircraft in Chula Vista, California for the duration of WWII. He listed his birthplace as Logan County, Arkansas and mother as Anna H. Ezell and his father as Samuel Doyle. He started to spell the name Doyel and then crossed it out and made it to Doyle.
Most of his life was spent in farming around the Heavener area. He lived on a farm in Independence, Oklahoma until he left and went to California. After that, he returned to Big Creek area and lived on a farm that his son Vernon had bought after he was discharged from the Army.
He suffered a stroke and since neither he, nor his wife Jane, could no longer care for themselves they moved into a nursing home in Heavener where they lived out their days. A sister-in-law from his first marriage, Alma Elliott, also lived in the same nursing home.
Father of
Mille Doyle Williams, William Thomas Doyle,
Emma Doyle Allen, Addie Mae
Doyle Earls Reid, and Vernon Isaac Doyle.
