Seeking information regarding Dr. Robert C. Carskaddon who died of Pneumonia at "his home at the Sac and Fox Agency" in January, 1901, according to items in the Stroud Messenger (on Microfilm) dated Jan. 4,11,18,25. An article on Feb. 15, 1901 indicated that Dr. Charles Green "has taken Dr. Carskaddon's practice". The article of Jan. 11th stated "the doctor was at one time government physician at the...Agency and was considered one of the best and most successful physicians in the territory". He and second wife, Lydia, are also found in the 1900 Census for Lincoln County, T623-1339, pg. 113A Line 14 & 15. At his death he apparently left a piece of property to his children by first marriage (including my grandfather, George Carskaddon) located in the city of Stroud, lots 11 & 12 in block 28, although he died "intestate" and M.E. Fergueson was appointed administrator of the estate, and the "real estate" was no part of the "homestead" of said R. Carskaddon" This information is from the wording of a suit filed in Feb. 1939, by Harvey C. Breeding vs. Fergueson as administrator. Legal Notice for the suit appeared in the Stroud Messenger Feb. 10, 1939.
