Lynda Ramsey Martinez

     Lynda was born and raised at Picher Oklahoma.  Her Father was Charles Fred “Cactus” Ramsey and her Mother was Gladys Welcome Ramsey, She attended the Picher schools graduating from the Picher High School in 1968.

     Lynda is married to Pete Martinez and they reside at Mesa, Arizona. She is a Mother of two children, Douglas Dooley and Stacey Bennett. She is a grandmother of   six, Paula, Kathleen, Donald, Brooklyn, Brendan and Kaylynn.

     Lynda has been active in genealogy for several years and   has written two genealogy books on her family. Her love of genealogy is the reason for writing this book, to preserve the history and memories of a great town, Picher, Oklahoma.

     Lynda has also written other books on Picher, Oklahoma. She has written Hard Rock Legacy, and Picher Oklahoma. She also helped Orval “Hoppy” Ray write Hard Rock Mining about Picher.

     This book was written especially for Picher Oklahoma’s 90th Birthday on March 4,2008.
