Ex-Congresswoman Alene Baker Dead at 78
Former state Rep. Alene Britton Baker, 78, died Monday. Services will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Turley United Methodist Church, under the direction of Peters-Stumpff Funeral Home of Skiatook. Baker was the executive secretary for CRC Pipeline before winning the election for the District 75 seat in the Oklahoma House in 1980, where she served until 1984. Baker was also a member of the board of Tulsa Metropolitan Ministry. She was the secretary for the Tulsa County Library board when it was organized, and was also a March of Dimes volunteer. Baker attended St. Helene Business School in Louisville, Ky., and Tulsa Junior College, now Tulsa Community College.She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Russell Baker; two sons, Thomas L. Baker of Tulsa, and  John R. Baker of Owasso; and two daughters, Sally R. Baker of Pittsburgh and Elizabeth Hirad of Tulsa.
 

 
Francis Baker -1994
Francis Charles Baker, Tulsa, died Nov. 1, 1994 in Claremore at the age of 73 years.
He was born Dec. 9, 1920 in Wauseaon, Ohio, to Samuel and Ethel Carter Baker. He was a veteran of the armed services, having served in the United States Army.
Decorations of service include the Asiatic pacific Campaign Medal with two bronze battle starts, Good Conduct Medal, American Defense Service Ribbon, and the Purple Heart.
He spent most of his working life as a bus driver for Greyhound Bus Lines. He was affiliated with the Free Will Baptist Church.
Loving family members include three daughter, Fran McNeal of Owasso, Sandy McArthur of Collinsville, and Joyce Thompson of Tulsa; 10 grandchildren; brother, Virgil Baker of Adrian, Michigan, sister............(page lost)
 
 
 

Jim Baker - Owasso Reporter Jun 5, 1997
Jim F. Baker of Owasso passed away May 27, 1997 in Tulsa at the age of 76 years. Jim was born Dec. 24, 1920 in Picher, Okla., to William Samuel and Nora Mae Smith Baker.
He was married Nov. 1, 1942 in Shawnee, Okla., to the former Wilma Anne Terrant.
Jim was a veteran of the U.S. Armed Forces, with the 16ht Field Artillery Battalion of Fort Sill. He was a Sergeant upon honorable separation after World War II, and had served under Gen. George S. Patton in the 3rd Army in Germany and Europe for 14 months. He received the EAME Service Ribbon, four Bronze Service Stars, American Defense Service Ribbons, and the Bronze Star Medal.
Following his military career, Jim worked for Guy Belt Buick and Reda Pump in Bartlesville, and Coleman Instruments in Tulsa, all three position as a machinist.
Jim was a co-owner of Tulsa Precision Mfg. Co and later started his own company, Baker Instrument Co., in Owasso in 1873.
Because of his superior skills and talents, Jim manufactured many precision parts for numerous major companies, including the Nation Aeronautics and Space Administration.
Jim was a member of the Valley View Christian Church of Tulsa, a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Delta Lodge #425, AF & AM, Tulsa Scottish Rite, and the Akdar Shrine of Tulsa.
He is survived by his loving family members; his wife Wilma of the home; son, James F. Baker of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.; daughters and son-in-law, Jean and Robert A. Clark of Tulsa; two grandsons and granddaughters-in-law, Rocky M. and Cindy Coop, and Steven W. and Mindy Coop, all of Tulsa; one great-grandson, Bronson R. Coop; one great-granddaughter, Courtnie R. Worthington; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Rae and Chester Moydell, and Wanda and Jack King, all of Oklahoma City; one sister-in-law, Betty Baker of Globe, Ariz., several nieces, nephews, cousin and many friends.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Donald E. and William S. Baker.
Services were held May 30 at the First Christian Church of Owasso with Brian Early officiating.
Serving as casketbearers were Steven Coop, Rocky Coop, Mark Horner, Roger Horner, Jerry Grace and Don Adams. Honorary casketbearers were Les Skelton, Fred Kay and Cleetis Wasson.
Committal services and interment immediately followed at Fairview Cemetery in Owasso.
In Lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions to be made to Shriner's Burn Center of Galveston, Texas, or the Crippled Children's Hospital, St. Louis, Mo.
Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Services of Owasso.
 
 
 

Frank Baldwin Owasso Reporter Sept. 24, 1998
Frank Allen Baldwin, 62, entered into rest Sep 9, 1998. He was born June 18, 1936 in Cordell, Okla. To Loren and Alice Curry Baldwin.
He was retired from Flint Steel.
He is survived by his wife Pearl of the home, son, Chris Baldwin of the home; two brothers, John Baldwin of Summersville, MO. And Gale Baldwin of Rockford, Ill.; two sisters, Sarah Ann Dale of Winona, MO. and Velma Adier of Bismark, MO.
Rev. Steve Holestine officiated services Sept. 14 at Valley View Baptist Church followed by interment at Russell Cemetery in Oaks, Okla., under the directions of Moore Funeral Home.
 
 
 

Kenneth Ball - Owasso Reporter Jan. 7, 1999
Kenneth L. "Spike" Ball of Tulsa died Dec. 31, 1998, at the age of 38. He graduated with the Collinsville High School Class of 1978.
Survivors include a sister and brother-in-law, Rebecca and Randy Cunningham, Owasso.
Funeral services were held Jan. 4 at Mowery Funeral Home Chapel in Owasso. Interment was at Graceland Memorial Park Cemetery near Owasso under the direction of Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso.
 
 
 

David Ballantyne
David August Ballantyne of Owasso died Sept. 3, 1998 at the age of 80. He was born April 25, 1918 in Herington, Kansas to Thomas and Sofia (Kuether) Ballantyne.
He was reared and educated in Herington and was a graduated of Herington High School. He was a member of the armed forces having served his country with the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was married to the former Margaret Grady on Jan. 1, 1941 in Wichita, Kan. David spent most of his working years with Boeing Aircraft. He and his wife moved tot he Owasso area in 1984. He enjoyed several pastimes, including woodworking and refinishing antiques.
Loving family members include his wife of 57 years, Margaret, of the home; daughter and sons-in-laws Kathy and James Logan of Pampa, Texas, Margaret Ann and James Madden of Wichita, Kan. And Jan and Boy Seay of Owasso, daughter Sandy Ballantyne of Owasso; six grandchildren and four great- grandchildren, sister and brother-in-law Jeanette and Morris Frownfelter of Kansas City, Kan.
Funeral services were held Sept 8, 1998 at the Memorial Park Cemetery Chapel in Tulsa. Serving as officiating minister was Rev. Chris Finley, Interment followed at Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso.
 
 

Jack Barham - Owasso Reporter Jul 16, 1998
Jack Bryce Barham, a resident of Owasso since 1990, died Jul 10, 1998 in Tulsa at the age of 72. He was born May 25, 1926 in Prescott, Ark., to Clinton and Hannah Sandusky Barham.
He was reared and educated in the Prescott area and was graduated with the Prescott High School Class of 1994. He was a veteran of the armed forces having served his country with the U.S. Army.
He married the former Frances Jones May 24, 1947 in Prescott. He continued his education at Magnolia A7M Junior College before attending the University of Arkansas where he received his bachelor's degree in agriculture in 1951.
He spent most of his working life as an officer in charge of inspectors for the Department of Agriculture. He worked with young men coaching little league baseball. He was active as a Boy Scoutmaster an had achieved the silver Beaver Award and the Order of the Arrow.
He was past president of the Stilwell Kiwais Club and had been a member of the Rotary Club at Ripon, Wis. He had served as church clerk as a teenager at Shady Grave Baptist Church outside Prescott. He also served as a Sunday school teacher at Stilwell First Baptist Church, then later at Muskogee Central Baptist Church.
Loving family members include his wife Frances of the home; three sons and daughters-in-law, Jeff and Jerrie Barham of Owasso, Keith and Pam Barham of Broken Arrow, and Zane and Tammie Barham of Ponca City; one daughter and son-in-law, Maria and Steven LaVal of Eminence, Mo.; seven grandchildren and one grandson-in-law; two brothers, Clinton Barham and his wife Oleta of Longview, Texas, and Warren Barham of Gilroy, Calif.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one six-year-old sister, Juanita Barham.
Funeral services were held July 13 at First Christian Church in Owasso. Officiates for the service were Brian Early, pastor at First Christian and Rev. Hance Dilbeck, pastor of First Baptist Church in Ponca City.
Serving as casket bearers were Jerry Ledbetter, Mitch Myers, Byran Morris, Gary Thompson, Bob LaVal and Bill Bowling.
Committal services and interment followed at Graceland Memorial Park Cemetery in Owasso. Services and arrangements were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Services of Owasso.
 
 
 

 Derral Barnes, Sr. Owasso Reporter Sept. 3, 1998
Derral Gene Barnes Sr., 65, of Owasso, went to be with his Lord on Thursday, August 27, 1998 in Tulsa. He was born in Tulsa on April 3, 1933 the son of Vester and Viola (Potter) Barnes.
He was retired from his occupation as a photographer. Derral married Doris Gregory in Tulsa on June 29, 1951.
He is survived by his wife Doris; a daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Garry Potter of Owasso, two sons and daughters-in-laws, Derral Gene and Faylin Barnes of Sand Springs and Gregory and Angela Barnes of Tulsa; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Lady Marie Barnes, Geniva Pettit, and Bernice Swann all of Tulsa.

Sherwood Barstad Owasso Reporter Dec. 10, 1998
Sherwood R. "Skip" Barstad of Owasso died Dec. 4, 1998 at the age of 77. He was born Aug 8, 1921 in Ray, North Dakota, to Warren and Grace Barstad
He was reared and educated in Monterery, Calif. He was a veteran of the armed forces having served his country with the U.S. Navy during World War II as an instructor and Naval pilot.
After his honorable discharge in 1946 he continued his education at UC Berkley, graduating in 1948 with a degree economics.
He spent most of his working life with Golden West Box Company and Calzona Box Company before retiring from American Forest Company.
He was married to the former Mary Ann Jackson on Aug 8, 1980 in Bakersfield, Calif. While living in Bakersfield he was an active member of Canyon Community Church.
After moving to Owasso in 1997 he became a member of First Baptist Church. In his pastime he enjoyed playing golf. He helped many people and was loved by everyone. He will be greatly missed.
Loving family members include his wife of 18 years, Ann, of the home; a son, Lance Barstad of Kihei, Maui, Hawaii; a daughter, Kirsten Mulvey of Valley Springs, Calif. ; one grandson, Patrick Mulvey; four step-children; one sister, Norma Tubolino of Valley Springs, Calif.; three nephews and one niece.
Funeral services were held Dec. 8 at First Baptist Church Owasso with Dr. Roger Ferguson serving as officiating minister. Serving as escorts were Ben Jackson, Don Harnage, Carl Branscum, Lanny Jackson, Patrick Mulvey, and Reed Woods.
Committal services and interment followed at Fort Gibson, Okla. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Services of Owasso.

Funeral services for Mary Elizabeth Bates, 74, of Turley were held Sep 22 in the Cornerstone Free Will Baptist Church in Turley with Rev. Charles Gann and Mr. Robert Cooper officiating. Burial was in Floral Haven Cemetery in Broken Arrow under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home of Sperry
She was born Oct 3, 1923 in Okmulgee to George and Bertha (Jackson) Hutchinson. She died Sep 19, 1998.
She is survived by her husband Ray of the home; sons. Charles Corey Jr. of Owasso and Michael Corey of Collinsville; daughter Marilyn Mackey of Corinth, Texas; step-children, David Bates of Port Orchard, Wash., Beverly Bates and Christopher Bates, both of Midwest City; 27 grandchildren, and 14-great-grandchildren; many other relatives and friends

 BRADFORD John Adkins, 81, of Tulsa, passed from this life October 7, 1999. The oldest son of
George Owen and Nora Belle Bradford. Born May 2, 1918 near Broken Arrow, OK. He graduated from
Tulsa Central High Class of 1936. He was a retired Rockwell International Supervisor with 41 years of
service, interrupted only by serving his country in WWII in the Philippines. He married the love of his life,
Esther Rush, on January 1, 1938 and this union gave them 2 sons, Johnie and David. He was preceded in
death by: his wife of 60 years; mother; father; 1 brother; and 1 sister. He is survived by: 2 sons and
daughters-in-law, Johnie L. and Sandy Bradford of Skiatook, and David R. and Dawna Bradford of Tulsa;
1 sister, Ruth Grimes of Tulsa; 1 brother, Kenneth Bradford of Tulsa; 6 grandchildren; and 4
great-grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends. Service 2 p.m., Monday,
October 11, 1999 at the Skiatook Immanuel Baptist Church. Interment at Fairview Cemetery, Owasso, OK.

Sam S. Breeden of rural Claremore died Nov 27, 1998 at the age of 88. He worked for the Rogers County Commissioners office for 29 years and retired from the Oklahoma State Department of Transportation.
Graveside services were held Nov. 30 at the Oakhaven Memorial Gardens in Claremore under the direction of Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso.

BREST-- John Michael ``Jack'', I, passed away October 12, 1998 at the age of 57. Jack was a resident of Owasso, OK since 1978. He was born in Dayton, OH on May 27, 1941. Jack was a Certified Orthotist and practiced in the orthotic profession for 39 years. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles and mother, Virginia Brest. He is survived by: his wife of 35 years, Renee Brest; 1 daughter and son-in-law, Michele and Kenny Lovelace; 1 son and daughter-in-law, John M. and Whitney Brest II; 1 grandson, Tony Daniels II; 1 granddaughter, Erin Daniels; 2 step-granddaughters, Misty and Suzanna Lovelace; 1 step-great-granddaughter, Mariah; 2 brothers, Chuck Brest of Ohio and Mike Brest of Florida; 2 sisters, Donna Brunswick and Nancy Gray, both of Ohio; father-in-law, Eldon Gray of Ohio; 2 granddogs, Baron and Sampson; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of loving friends. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend to all who knew him. Service will be held 10 a.m., Saturday, October 17, 1998 at Moore's Southlawn Chapel with interment at Memorial Park Cemetery. Former Tulsa Music Minister Dies in Crash
A former Tulsan and minister of music for several area churches and his wife and stepson were killed in a car accident Friday in New Mexico. Paul Brooks, 49, his wife, Alisa, 32, and her son, Caleb Nelson, 9, all of Las Vegas, were killed about 10 a.m. near Tucumcari, N.M., when they were thrown from their vehicle on the way to a wedding in Lawton. Funeral services are pending with Floral Haven, Broken Arrow. Twelve-year-old Stacia Nelson, the only member of the family wearing a seat belt in the accident, was released to the custody of her father and grandparents Saturday. The New Mexico State Police reported that Paul Brooks was driving east on Interstate 40 about six  miles west of Tucumcari when he drifted off the shoulder of the road. He overcorrected the car,   sending it into a broadside skid before it hit the median, ejecting all except Stacia. The car continued to roll and stopped on the north side of the road. The medical examiner declared all three dead at the scene. Brooks and his family moved from Oklahoma to Las Vegas about two years ago. Brooks served there as the minister of music and business administrator for Spring Valley Baptist Church. While living in Tulsa, Brooks served at Arrow Heights Baptist Church and First Baptist Church in Broken Arrow, Freedom Baptist Church in Owasso and View Acres Baptist Church and Garnett Road Baptist Church in Tulsa. Brooks also worked as a grief counselor for Floral Haven. He was the past president of the Singing Churchmen of Oklahoma.

 

 Della Brock - Owasso Reporter Jan. 21, 1999
Della Anna (Cricket) Brock, 84 of Owasso, died Jan. 17, 1999 in Tulsa. She was born Feb. 17, 1914 in Evansville, Arkansas to Richard martin and Edna (Archer) Flinn.
She had been a resident of the Owasso area for the past 14 years and was a former resident of Morrow, Ark., community.
Survivors include on daughter, Portia Faya Smith and son-in-law Michael of Owasso; one grandson, Christopher Don Smith of Owasso; two brothers, Marvin Flinn of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Doyle Flinn of San Bernandino, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Brock; one son, Weldon Brock; one brother, Jewel Flinn; her two sister, Stella Browning, and another sister, Dorothy Drake.
Services were held Jan. 20 at Mr. Pleasant Church in Morrow, Ark. Burial was in Prairie Grove, Ark., Cemetery under the direction of Luginbuel Funeral Home of Prairie Grove.
 

 
Kennie Brown - Owasso Reporter Jan. 7, 1999
Kennie R. Brown of Owasso died Dec. 29, 1998 at the age of 78. He was born April 29, 1920 in Fairland, Okla., to George and Verna Herrod Brown.
He was a graduate of Hickory Grove High School. He was a veteran of the armed forces having served his country with the U.S. Air Force during World War II and the Korean War.
He was married tot he former Constance May Bebby in Farcet, England, in September of 1944. He spent most of his working life as a supervisor with American Airlines. He was a member of the V.F.W. and the United Methodist Church in Inola.
Loving family members include his wife Constance of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Ray J. and Ida Mae Brown of Owasso; daughter and son-in-law, Lela and Bill Beaman of Owasso; daughter, Judy Brown of Tulsa; 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Jesse Brown of Tulsa and Ray Dean Brown of Waco, Texas.
Funeral services were held Jan. 4 at Mowery Chapel with Chaplain David Haug officiating. Escorts were Brian Day, Wayne Brown, Gary Brown, Levi Yoder, Everett Yoder, Shannon Brown and Ron Walters.
Military graveside rites were provided by the American Legion Post Carson Wilson #1 of Tulsa. Committal services and interment followed at Rose Hill Memorial Park in Tulsa. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Services of Owasso.

BROWN, Naomi W. Burkett , retired St. John Hospital worker, went home to be with her Lord, Friday, December 29, 2000. Naomi was born April 8, 1931 in Jenks, OK to God loving parents, Essie and George W. Burkett. She was the ninth child born out of 11 wonderful children. She was preceded in death by: 5 brothers, David, Paul, Joel, John and Jim Burkett, all of Tulsa; 3 brothers-in-law, Darrell Wills, Rendall McNamara and Don Long, all of Owasso. Naomi is survived by: 3 beautiful sisters and 3 sisters-in-law, Martha Wills, Mary McNamara, Ruth Long, all of Owasso, Fern, Joan and Phyllis Burkett, all of Tulsa; 2 handsome brothers and sisters-in-law, our own family angel, Symon P. Burkett and wife, Mary Ellen Burkett, Tulsa, Billy Mark and Nancy Burkett, Texas. Naomi gave birth to 3 daughters who loved her very much. She was preceded in death by second daughter, Sharon Ann Rutherford in 1991. She is survived by: daughters, Vicki McLain and husband, Doug, Diana Burks and special friend, Pete Thyssen; 5 grandchildren, Kim, Kelly and Shane McLain, all of Tulsa, Tommy Thompson of Lubbock, TX, Christa McWilliams and husband, Paul of Catoosa; 7 great-grandchildren, Kevin, Ashley, Shaleigh, Nick, Ryan, Kolole, Taylor. For them that has gone on before her they are all rejoicing and praising the Lord Jesus together for all that Naomi left behind that she was their mother, sister and grandmother. She will be sadly and greatly missed until we all can meet again. Service Wednesday, January 3, 2001, 11 a.m., Moore's Eastlawn Chapel. Interment Floral Haven Cemetery. Under the direction of Moore's Eastlawn Chapel, 622-1155.
 


Sybil Brown Owasso Reporter Sept 16, 1999
Sybil Irene "Prissy" Brown of Owasso passed away Sept. 2, 1999 in Tulsa at the age of 89. She was born Feb. 3, 1910 in Hollis, Oklahoma to John and Evelyn (Selph) Miller.
She married James "Jim" Brown Dec. 23, 1928 in Hollis. She had lived in the Ada area for 43 years before moving to Owasso in 1976. She spent her working years in her home taking care of her family.
She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Owasso. Among many pastimes she enjoyed sewing and her flower garden.
Surviving family members include her daughters and sons-in-law. Jacqueline and Troy Tipton of Ada. Joan Stuckey of Owasso, and Kay and Glen Gibson of Owasso; nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren., and two great-great-grandchildren; sister, Johnnie Galbraith of Cottonwood, Ariz., brother, Raymond Miller of Fillmore, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1994.
A graveside service was held Sept. 4 at the Memorial Park Cemetery in Ada. Services and arrangements were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso.

 


Timothy Bruster - Owasso Reporter Jan. 28, 1999
Timothy Ray Bruster of Rural Owasso died Jan 18, 1999 at the age of 33. He was born Oct. 9, 1965 in Tulsa to Ray and Sharlene Bruster.
He was reared and educated in the Owasso area and graduated with the Owasso Class of 1984. He enjoyed a variety of pastimes including reading, helping his family with their chickens, and studying the starts through his telescope.
Loving family members include his parents, Ray and Sharlene Bruster of Collinsville; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Terri and Roger Simeroth of Collinsville, and Christi and Rodney Stevens of Owasso; two nephews, Ben and David Simeroth, and Kenzie and Kaylee Stevens; and several aunts, uncles and other relatives.
Funeral services were held Jan. 21 at Mowery Chapel with Father Paul Donovan serving as officiating clergy. Serving as escorts were Matt McCauley, Mike McPhearson, Max Told, Danny Hills, Roger Stevens and Richard McCauley.
Committal services and interment followed at Grassland Memorial park Cemetery in Owasso. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso.

BURGER-- Lillian Rae
, 75, of Owasso, died October 23, 1998. She was born October 20, 1923 at Lusk, WY to Ray and Virginia (DuPin) Hamlin. She was Co-Owner of Lewis Travel Trailers in Owasso. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and great-grand mother. Survivors include: her husband, Frederick of the home; sons and daughter s-in-law, Ron and Patsy Burger, Gary and Donna Burger, all of Owasso; daughter, Sharon Dishman of Branson, MO; 9 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; brothers Charles Hamlin, Jack Hamlin, Neil (Skip) Hamlin, all of California. Funera l service will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, October 28 at the Crossroads Christian Cente r, Highway 20 and North Highway 169. Interment to follow at Sandridge Cemetery.  Lucille Busic - Owasso Reporter May 13, 1999
Lucile Busic of Riverside, Ill., 95, formerly of Sallisaw and Owasso, died April 28, 1999.
A memorial graveside service was held May 13 at Sallisaw City Cemetery under the direction of Mallory Wheeler Funeral Home of Sallisaw.
She was born Feb. 1, 1904 in Perkins, Okla., to James Dwight Stedman and Amanda Jane Evans. She was a collector of dolls and was well known for her talents in creating clothing for them.
She is survived by four grand-children, five great-grandchildren and two daughters-in-law.
She is preceded in death by her husband Paul, and sons Jerry and Alan.
 

 
Theo Burd - Owasso Reporter May 13, 1999
Theo Burd, rural resident of Owasso, passed away May 5, 1999 in Tulsa at the age of 77. He was born Feb. 6, 1922 in Claremore to Emmett and Esther (Woods) Burd.
Theo was married to the former Margaret Belle Froman in 1942 in Claremore. He was spent most of his life working as a foreman in the ranching and agricultural industry.
He was a member of the Maranatha Baptist Temple in Collinsville. He enjoyed a variety of pastimes, including fishing and especially his family.
Surviving family members include his wife Margaret Belle of the home; his sons and daughters-in-law, Pete and Georgia Burd, Jerry and Carma Burd, and David and Cara Burd, all of Owasso; six grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren; a brother Everett Lee Burd of Claremore; a sister, Virginia Ellen Key of Claremore; his mother Esther Burd (age 104) of Claremore.
He was preceded in death by his father Emmett Burd.
Funeral services were held May 7 at Bethel Baptist Church in Owasso. Officiating the service was Rev. Don Moseby with rev. Jim Wheeler, Rev. Mar Terrell and Rev. Dwayne Thompson assisting.
Serving as escorts were Eldon Woodson, Dennis Satterfield, jay Morgan, Wes Ator, Frank Cherry and David Cross. Honorary escorts were John Gwartney, L.C. Poston, Bill Coates, Hayward Smith, John Peters, Floyd Richardson, J.B. Stigall, Bob Coates and Bud Armstrong.
Committal services and interment followed at Graceland Memorial Park Cemetery in Owasso. Services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Services of Owasso.
