Susan Emma Finch Murphy operated the Millinery and dressmaking shop about 1900. The well dressed ladies of the day were pleased to have Mrs. Murphy among them to advise them regarding their wearing apparel. May women made their own clothing but it was still nice to rely on a seamstress with knowledge of Mrs. Murphy. The shop was located on Broadway just east of Main on the north side of the street. The site later became the Finch Grocery operated my Mrs. Murphy's son, Lewis Finch and his wife and family.
