In the 1901 Shawnee City Directory the Southern Methodist church is listed
at Beard and 10th with pastor, Rev. J.C. Fowler.
In the 1910 Shawnee City Directory this church was listed as being on Beard, northeast
corner of 10th Street.  Organized in 1895.  Membership in 1910 was 350 and the
Pastor was Rev. James H. Ball.
Pastor's residence was at 16 W. 10th Street.
